Mask Off Remix

I teamed up with one of Chicago’s most respected producers in the game right now, Gorilla Bass. We managed to cook up this incredible bass house remix of Future’s club hit record “Mask Off”. This was our first collaboration, and definitely not our last. We plan on releasing more remixes together seeing that our in studio chemistry worked so well together. You can go to Gorilla Bass website and Soundcloud to download the remix for FREE! Special thanks to www.smashtheclub.com for featuring our track on their site as well! Hit me up and let me know what you think of the remix. We have special extended versions for DJs as well per special request.

BPM Supreme Radio Mix

A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by BPM Supreme, a highly respected DJ record pool website, to be featured on their mix show. It was an honor and a lot of fun doing this for them. I literally just got on my technic turntables and hit the record button and this is what I got. Take time to listen to it, share it and pass it along to a friend. You can hear the mix via Mixcloud and Soundcloud. Links are below. Enjoy!

Just in time for the Spring season, new music for you to jam out to. This mix contains a little bit of something for everyone. House, Latin, Dance, Hip-Hop, Trap & Top 40, a real eclectic mixture of music that I’m feeling right now. I want to thank everyone for being patient with me not releasing anything in a while. Shout out to Post Malone and Zay Hilfigerrr for their special guest appearance in this mix, much appreciated. With that said, enjoy and make sure to check me out if your in Chicago, or hit me up to have me come to your city.

Fashion Geek Status

Ok… I might be a big dude. But you can’t tell me this geek sweatshirt ain’t dope. Never has there been a time in history when you can look so cool wearing a shirt that says “geek.” Think about the irony of that. I’m the DJ. I’m supposed to be the coolest dude in the building, right? But I’m a music nerd at heart, and I’m not afraid to show it. I don’t know if it’s my confidence or just me being crazy, but this is officially one of my favorite shirts now. You heard it here first… DJ Heavy loves the men’s fashion. But like… lowkey though.

A Heavy Thought #2

If you read my first Heavy Thought post, you know that I am doing this series to voice my opinion on things that I normally never get to discuss as a DJ. Today’s Heavy Thought is inspired by all the drama going on as a result of Donald Trump’s travel ban. I am not going to get into the politics of it. I am not going to argue about being Republican or Democrat because I don’t believe in shoving my opinions down people’s throats. And I am not going to get into the debate about immigrants because it’s not my field of expertise, I’m still shaping my views about things as I learn more. What I am going to address, though, is the contribution that people from other countries have made to American music. A travel ban affecting people from Muslim countries could stop us from ever seeing the next DJ Khaled. It might seem like a small thing… But is it really? Nobody can deny that our country is great because of the melting pot aspect of our culture. If we limit that we limit where we can go as a people, which means we are ultimately limiting ourselves. Just a thought.

My Lit Birthday

When you way too lit for your birthday! I want to personally thank everyone who came out to support and party with me and my family. Seriously, thank you Y Bar & Shay for taking care of all my people inside the club. Dimuri you are the man bro. Thanks Danny Vargas for everything last night, had a blast! And of course, thanks to my TDF family, you guys are amazing! Let’s do it again next year!

I Listen To Everything!

Because I’m a DJ and I spin all kinds of music at events ranging from hip hop clubs to luxury weddings, most folks have no clue what I actually listen to in my free time. You might be surprised to know that I love throwback jams. It’s not that I don’t like popular music these days, too. Technology has given producers a way to innovate in ways they never could before. But throwback jams are just different level of fun for me. Been part of The Dj Firm, I get to play all kinds of music for all kinds of people, so I have to maintain my versatility. I take pride in the fact that I can spin anything from rap to reggae to rock. Expand your minds people! If you head over to The Dj Firm’s site, you can actually see an example of our versatility in the mixes we post. And feel free to enjoy those free downloads. You’re welcome.
